I've watched Beastly, a 2011 romantic fantasy film, which the inspirations comes from the novel of the same name. This story is a kind of retells of Beauty and the Beast, which is indeed a modern-day version, filmed in NYC. It was pretty awesome ;)

The plot of this story actually focuses on Kyle Kingston, wealthy yet arrogant high school student. During an environmental event, he disrespects a classmate, who is secretly a witch in disguise. The witch casts a spell on Kyle which makes him disfigured, and the only way to break the spell is to find true love, or left living like that with his monstrous looks forever.
What is there for me in the story is that we can really differentiate the difference between those beautiful people with those who are considered an alien to the world. It really does teaches that the only true love comes not from the looks on the outside, but it does comes from the heart inside. Romantic, magical love it is, as true to the saying, "Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder". Love this story very much.
